Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain of the T20 side with senior players including Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul being rested for the series. The new selection committee was announced a few days ago with Chetan Sharma being retained by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the BCCI interviewing more than a dozen of candidates last week.

In the wake of beating Sri Lanka at home in the last series, Hardik Pandya has been held as the skipper of the India Public Cricket Crew for the series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma himself conceded in front of the ODI series against Sri Lanka that he has not shut entryways on his T20I profession yet an unmistakable choice will be finished after IPL 2023.
