Black Caps v Sri Lanka: Stunning Lasith Malinga double hat-trick rocks NZ
Sri Lanka's captain Lasith Malinga destroyed New Zealand's top-order with a stunning double hat-trick in the third Twenty20 cricket international in Kandy.

The home skipper knocked over Colin Munro, Hamish Rutherford, Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor off the last four balls of his second over in scarcely believable scenes at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

It reduced New Zealand to 15-4 chasing 126 to win, the series already in safe keeping at 2-0.

Malinga was near unplayable, skittling Munro with an inswinging yorker for the second time this series. He then trapped Rutherford lbw on review in his first T20 international in six years and bowled de Grandhomme with an outswinger to seal the eighth hat-trick in T20 international cricket.

For good measure he trapped Taylor in front first ball with another yorker to send the crowd into raptures.

It was Malinga's fifth hat-trick in international cricket: three in ODIs and two in T20s.
