I can be a little more expensive, but that draws in more dismissals: Mitchell Starc after his victory over India

Mitchell Starc of Australia ripped through India's batting order in Visakhapatnam, reducing the Men in Blue to 117 in 26 overs. Starc's form carried over from the west coast of Mumbai to the east coast of Visakhapatnam, beginning with the wicket of Shubman Gill in the first over after India were given the opportunity to play first.

He was on a hat-trick for the second game in a succession after scalping skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav off consecutive balls three overs later. Yadav's poor ODI form continued with his second golden duck in a succession. "Over the years, I've learned the craft. My cadence has been consistent for several weeks. I got the ball to shape in the air and do a little bit off the wicket the last two of nights. "I'm in a good place, hopefully I can keep it up," Mitchell Starc said after receiving the Player of the Match award.

In the contest, Starc took five wickets while conceding 53 runs in eight overs. The Player of the Match stated that expanding on his brand of pace bowling up front sometimes costs more runs but also results in'more' wickets. "It's a role I perform, being more offensive and bowling slightly fuller than some of the other guys.

"I can be slightly more expensive, but that brings in more dismissals; that's the role I play," the 33-year-old pacer explained. Starc's five-wicket haul was his ninth in one-day international cricket, tying him with Brett Lee for most five-fors for Australia and moving him into the top five for most five-fors in ODI annals. "My discussions are a little different than, say, Cam Green's. Both levels have aided the seamen.

There was also disturbance in the air in Mumbai. "My game plan is to attack the stumps and use all modes of dismissal," Starc explained. Coming to the match, Starc's fifer followed by Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head's brutal hitting led Australia to 10 wickets win with 234 balls to spare against India in the second ODI of the three-match series at YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Sunday.

Marsh hit an undefeated 66 off 36 balls, while Head struck 51* off 30 deliveries. With veteran pacer Mohammed Shami conceding 29 runs, Indian bowlers failed to take any wickets, handing Australia an easy victory. Australia reached the goal in the 11th over of the match, tying the three-match series at 1-1.
