Designer store Cricket has opened its highly anticipated new shop in the Metquarter, after being based in Cavern Walks for 28 years.
Justine Mills opened the store when she was just 18 and went on to experience huge success in the city.
The store became well known for attracting some of the biggest celebrities, including Coleen Rooney, Alex Gerrard and actress Michelle Keegan, who were all spotted shopping there and carrying a famous Cricket bag.
The new shop has rebranded its logo, redesigned its iconic bags and is now based inside the former Armani Exchange unit in the Metquarter.
Speaking to the ECHO, Justine, 45, said: "It's a new chapter in the history of Cricket.
"It's a big move because we've been at Cavern Walks for 28 years, so all my adult life was at that store.
"We're really pleased with the outcome of the new shop and everyone at Metquarter has made us feel so welcome.
"I'm really excited about what the future holds - we've launched with some new brands across our womenswear, menswear and children's wear.
"I am sad to leave Cavern Walks because it felt like home and there was always something going on, especially with the Cavern being our neighbour.
"We've heard Paul McCartney singing right beneath us, Adele, all sorts - and people were always taking pictures.
"I am sad to leave but it's mixed emotions really because I think it's always positive to look forward and fashion is always moving forward, so it just felt right.
"It's also given us the opportunity to do a rebrand - we've updated our iconic bags that I designed when I was 19 and we've tweaked and updated things for a new generation of shoppers."
Cricket is based at Metquarter, Units 23 & 47, L1 6DA.
