Dream 11 becomes the new title sponsor of IPL

After the exit of Chinese smartphone company Vivo, Dream 11 has been chosen as the new title sponsor of the IPL.

Due to the dispute between India and China on the border, Chinese smartphone company Vivo broke its contract with IPL. Ever since Vivo's departure, the IPL was looking for a new title sponsor. Many big Indian companies were in the race to get title sponsorship. Tata, one of the largest companies in India, was also involved in this race. Everyone hoped that Tata could be given the title sponsorship this time. But this year's title sponsorship has been given to the fantasy game platform Dream 11.

Dream 11 has achieved this title sponsorship for four and a half months at Rs 222 crore. All the companies had bid for the sponsorship. Dream 11 achieved this sponsorship by bidding highest. IPL President Brijesh Patel confirmed this. The inside news is also that Dream 11 can continue sponsoring the IPL till the year 2022. For this, Dream 11 will have to pay an average of Rs 234 crore every year. However, compared to Vivo, this amount is quite small.

BCCI was getting a profit of 440 crores from Vivo every year. In this auction of sponsorship, after Dream 11, two education technology companies Byju’s with 201 crore and Unacademy with 170 crore came in second and third place respectively. The Tata company, considered the strongest contender for the sponsorship, did not make the final bid. On the other hand, Dream 11 has long been associated with the sponsorship of the IPL. The IPL will begin on September 19 this year with a this new sponsor.
