Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni (CSK) has a winning start to the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captain Virat Kohli, by 7 wickets in the opening match. After losing the toss at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the RCB team could not face the wavy bowling of Bhajji and Imran Tahir, and all got out on 70 runs. In reply CSK achieved the target by losing 3 wickets in 17.4 overs.
The start of CSK also started to chase the poorly aimed target, the team of Chennai Super Kings also started poorly. They felt their first blow as Shane Watson. Without opening the account, Yuvraj is also got out on the ball of Chahal. Kedar Jadhav and Ravindra Jadeja added a crucial 7-wicket win over CSK, adding 1,000 runs for Chennai in the IPL, Chahal, Mohammad Siraj and Moin Ali took one wicket each.
RCB innings thriller Earlier, Harbhajan Singh did not give Royal Challengers Bangalore a good start by taking 3 wickets in the first innings and Chennai Super Kings dismissed them for 70 in 17.1 overs. On the slow wicket of Chepauk, senior off-spinner Harbhajan took three wickets in 20 overs with 20 runs. Imran Tahir then took 3/9 in 3 overs with three wickets. Ravindra Jadeja also took 2 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs on the Aishwash pitch of the spinners.
RCB's big wicket Captain Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision of bringing Harbhajan to bowl was proved right, who sent Captain Kohli (6) back to the pavilion in the fourth over.
