Replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Adam Zampa: Chennai Super Kings have included Ayush Mhatre in the team as a replacement for Rituraj Gaikwad. Captain Gaikwad was ruled out of the entire tournament due to an elbow fracture, after which MS Dhoni is leading the team. Prithvi Shaw was also among the players CSK was considering. A few days ago, the team took trials of some young players, after which the team decided to include Mumbai's young opener Mhatre in the team.

"CSK pick Ayush Mhatre as injury replacement for Ruturaj Gaikwad, SRH sign Smaran Ravichandran for the injured Adam Zampa," IPL said in a statement. 

"Chennai Super Kings (CSK) picked Ayush Mhatre as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed Smaran Ravichandran in place of the injured Adam Zampa for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025," the statement added.

In a media release issued by the IPL, it has been told that Chennai Super Kings have picked Ayush Mhatre in place of injured Rituraj Gaikwad, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed Ravichandran Smriti in place of injured Adam Zampa for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League 2025. Mhatre has played 9 first-class matches and 7 List A games and has scored around 962 runs in these. The right-handed batsman, who represents Mumbai in domestic cricket, has been bought by CSK for Rs 30 lakh.

Karnataka's Ravichandran Smaran has played 7 first-class games, 10 List A matches and 6 T20s and has scored more than 1100 runs in these matches. The left-handed batsman, who plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket, has been bought by SRH for Rs 30 lakh. Both the players were part of the auction pool, but no team bought them because the teams had already been formed. Now both of them have a chance to show their strength.

"Welcome aboard, Smaran. He joins our squad as the replacement of Adam Zampa, who is ruled out due to injury," SRH said in a post on their social media. Zampa featured in only two matches for SRH in the ongoing season and picked up two wickets in those two games.
