Team India will go through a busy schedule over a period of 12 months, with matches to be played in Ireland, Sri Lanka & Zimbabwe alongside matches that will be played in England, Japan, Bangladesh and the UAE. The team will also play matches at home.
As per recent reports, India will play three T20Is and two tests in July and August in Sri Lanka as per the Future Tours Programme. Sri Lanka Cricket has requested the BCCI to schedule three T20Is that would be helpful to raise funds for Sri Lanka’s flood relief. Sri Lanka suffered destruction due to Cyclone Ditwah in November last year.
Before the Sri Lanka tour, team India will tour England for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is in July, and simultaneously, the team might tour Ireland for a three-match series, as per reports. A BCCI source stated that the team might play against Ireland at the end of June before the England tour, after the home series against Afghanistan in June, where 1 test match and 3 ODIs would be played.
Team India is also likely to play a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in September in the UAE. Team India might tour Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series, but that depends on whether the Government of India gives permission, due to uneasy ties between the two countries.
There are also discussions that the team might tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in September, but these reports are unconfirmed. West Indies is also expected to tour India in September-October for a five-match T20I series as well as the three-match ODI series.
The Indian men’s T20 team will also play in the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, for the Cricket tournament that would be played from the 25h of September to the 3rd of October.
Team India will tour New Zealand for 5 ODIs, 5 T20Is and 2 tests in October- November. After returning from New Zealand, Team India will play Sri Lanka at home in a three-match T20Is series & a 3 match ODIs series in December. Team India will then face Australia at home in January- February 2027 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
