Team India has won back-to-back One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in 2023, with the ODI World Cup on the horizon.Virat Kohli appears to have found his rhythm with the bat, having already scored two centuries in 2023.
After defeating Sri Lanka by 317 runs thanks to centuries from Kohli and Shubman Gill, the duo thanked three throwdown specialists. Nuwan Seneviratne, a man from Sri Lanka with a humble background, was one of the three names.Rex Clementine, a cricket journalist, took to Twitter to share Seneviratna's story.
He described how Seneviratne was first drafted into Sri Lanka's support staff as an assistant fielding coach, and how former India captain Kohli recognised his abilities. "Nuwan was hired as an assistant fielding coach on the coaching staff. He has an insane gym routine.
Two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Senior team coach Graham Ford discovered he could generate extreme speed doing throw downs," one of his tweets stated. Meanwhile, following the recent series victory over the Lankan Lions, Kohli thanked the specialists, including Seneviratne, for their contributions to his success.
"This is Raghu, Daya, and Nuwan - they challenge us every day with 145 kmph, 150 kmph, practise sessions are so intense, they make us ready for the match, they had played a big role in my success, so everyone should remember their faces & names so thank you guys," Kohli said.
