Indian Team for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: 15-member Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy was announced on Saturday. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in this tournament starting from February 19. Fast bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have also been given a place in the team announced by the selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). India will play all its matches in the Champions Trophy in Dubai.
A five-match T20 series will be played between India and England from January 22, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, while after this there will be an ODI series in which Rohit Sharma will be seen leading the team. At the same time, fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also returned to the ODI team after T20.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the India vs England ODI series. Harshit Rana has got a chance in his place. However, experienced bowler Mohammad Siraj has not been included in the 15-member squad. He has also not been selected for the T20 series to be played against England. At the same time, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been made a part of the ODI team for the first time.
In this series, Rohit Sharma will be seen leading the Indian team while Shubman Gill will be seen as the vice-captain. Apart from Hitman, Virat Kohli will also be seen playing against England. Both will be seen playing in this format after a gap of almost six months. Earlier, the Indian team played a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The hosts defeated Team India 2-0 in this series.

The three-match ODI series is set to begin from February 6 with three matches scheduled in Nagpur, Cuttack and Ahmedabad respectively. The series will act as final preparation for the Men in Blue for the Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to begin from February 19.
On the other hand matches of the Champions Trophy will be held in three cities of Pakistan as well as Dubai. India will play its matches in Dubai. It will not tour Pakistan due to security concerns. If the Indian team is successful in qualifying for the final, then the final match will also be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. If Team India does not reach the final, then the title match will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Eight teams are going to participate in the Champions Trophy. Last time in 2017, Pakistan defeated India in the final.
