ENGLAND fan group The Barmy Army have flown a plane over Edgbaston with a banner saying "Arise Sir Ben Stokes".
Stokes was the hero of England's Cricket World Cup victory, guiding the side to the trophy in the final against New Zealand.
He has been re-appointed vice-captain for the Ashes and has been tipped by many to be a star of the series.
Stokes took one wicket during the first day of the Ashes helping England bowl Australia out for 284.
And The Barmy Army showed their appreciation for the all-rounder by hiring a plane to fly over the ground in Birmingham.
