UAE World League Two series match delayed by rain
Heavy morning rainfall has delayed the start of the UAE's second match in the World Cup League Two in Sharjah.

The national team are due to play Scotland in a one-day international at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Although the sun has been shining since 10.45am, a morning deluge has left parts of the outfield under water.

Groundstaff are working to dry the affected areas using manual sponge-rollers.

If the game does not commence before 2.45pm, it will be cancelled, with each side sharing a point towards their World Cup League Two total. The minimum length match needed to constistute a match is 20-overs per side.

The UAE have played one match in the competition so far, losing to the United States on Sunday. Scotland also lost to the same opposition a day later in Sharjah.

The United States currently top the table in the new competition, which is the part of the qualifying process for the 2023 World Cup in India.

They face the UAE at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Thursday.
