Michael Hussey: It’s Not the Right Time for T20 World Cup

As we all know that due to the spread of Corona virus, all sports around the world have been affected. As with all sports, cricket has also been affected. No cricket of any kind has been played for a long time. Everyone is waiting for the situation to return normal. But the situation does not seem to get normal in near future.

The T20 World Cup is to be played this year. But in the current situation, the future of the World Cup seems to be in the dark. Former Australian veteran batsman Michael Hussey has expressed concern about the T20 World Cup. Hussey believes that having the T20 World Cup can have side effects. If this happens then it is a matter of great concern.

Hussey also does not see the possibility of the tournament to happen this year. Hussey said in the podcast 'Hotspot', 'To be honest, I am a little scared about the T20 World Cup and the reason behind it is that I think it is okay to bring a single team to play international cricket. It is okay to keep them in isolation, keep them safe and prepare well for the series. But bringing many teams and preparing them by keeping them in isolation and then taking them to different places in the country, I think all this will be a logistic nightmare. From what we are hearing, perhaps the T20 World Cup should be postponed until 2021 or 2022. '

India has to tour Australia after the T20 World Cup and according to Hussey it is likely to go according to plan. He said, 'I am very positive in the Indian team's tour of Australia that it will happen because only one team will come here and it will be easy to keep them at a single place.'

Hussey said, 'For example, Adelaide Oval has recently built a hotel which is connected to the stadium, so the Indian team can build their base there, train and prepare for the series and play against Australia.’
