The venues for the matches between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans for the 2026 IPL season have been swapped. The two teams were scheduled to face each other in Ahmedabad on the 26th of April at 3:30 PM, while the next match between the two teams was scheduled on the 21st of May in Chennai at 7:30 PM.
As per the changes made, the match on the 26th of April will be played in Chennai at 3:30 PM, while the match that is to be played on the 21st of May will be played in Ahmedabad at 7:30 PM.
It was recently declared by the IPL that the reason for the interchange was due to the municipal corporation elections in different parts of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans are currently at the 6th position in the points table with 4 points in 4 games and 2 wins, while CSK are at the 8th position in the points table with 4 points in 5 matches and 2 wins.
Both teams have faced each other 8 times in IPL history, with both teams winning 4 matches each. GT will face KKR at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on the 17th of April, while CSK will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 18th of April at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Both GT and CSK last faced each other once in IPL 2025, with CSK winning the contest by 83 runs. CSK scored 230/5 in 20 overs while the Gujarat Titans were bowled out for 147 runs in that match. Both teams will aim to make a comeback and look to make it to the top 4 to qualify for the playoffs.
