Ellyse Perry and Kim Garth ruled out of ODIs against India due to injuries

Australian all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Kim Garth won’t be available for the three-match ODI series against India that began today. Both players suffered quad strains in the third T20I that was played at Adelaide Oval on the 21st of February.

Both teams will also face each other for the one-off test match that will be played at Perth from the 6th of March, after the ODI series concludes. Cricket Australia stated that the assessment would be done after the ODI series concludes, to determine whether they would be able to play in the test match, depending on their response to the rehabilitation process.

The Australian team, as well as the Australian team management, will be hopeful to see both players get fit before the test match. Meanwhile, Megan Schutt, who wasn’t included in the team for the T20I series, made an impressive start in the ODI series, claiming the wicket of Pratika Rawal on the second ball of the match of the first ODI.

Australia included 19-year-old left-arm pacer Lucy Hamilton in the ODI squad. The pacer hasn't played in the limited-overs format yet, but has played for Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League and also for Delhi Capitals in the recently concluded Women's Premier League. Georgia Voll, who scored 88 in the second T20I at Canberra, will replace Perry at no 3 in the ODI series.

All-rounder Tahlia McGrath and leg spinner Alana King, who weren't included in the T20I series, have been named in the squad for the limited-overs series.  Captain and wicket keeper Allysa Healy will be playing her last series. The 35-year-old won’t be seen in the wicket-keeper’s role, as Beth Mooney would be seen in the wicket-keeper’s role. Sophie Molineux, who began her captaincy assignment with a loss in the recently concluded T20I series, will be seen in the vice captain’s role in the ODI series.
