WEST Indies U-16 cricketer, Mavindra Dindyal, and Devon Lord, back from a stint in Canada, were able to register solid performances over the weekend to give home team, the Georgetown Cricket Club, a comprehensive victory against Ace Warriors in their Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Noble House Seafoods Two-Day Second Division cricket clash.

Young Dindyal batted sensibly to score 101 (8X4s, 1X6) while Lord and Ronaldo Alimohamed supported with half centuries to lift GCC to 285-5 declared, on Sunday, before they again bowled out a depleted Ace Warriors unit for a paltry total, which resulted in an innings and 204-run victory.

On Saturday, GCC, defending champions of the competition, had taken control of the clash by restricting the visitors for 38 runs, after left-arm spinners Stephon Wilson and Lord had grabbed 4-7 and 3-15.

Winston Forrester supported with 2-1 from three overs.

The home team had reached 127-3 by the close of play with Dindyal unbeaten on 37 and Alimohamed on 13.

On Sunday morning, the pair continued to build on their lead, with Alimohamed hitting three fours and a six in a score of 52. After Alimohamed, who captained the side, fell, regular skipper Lord joined Dindyal in the middle.

When the side declared in 45 overs, Lord was left unbeaten on 54 after having struck four fours and an equal amount of sixes.

The left-arm spinner then nabbed 4-21 to help restrict Ace Warriors to 43-7 in 18.1 overs.
