Dhoni touched a new milestone in IPL

Age 42 has passed still young in performance Mahendra Singh Dhoni. His storm can be seen in every match with the bat in the current IPL. In the last match against Lucknow Super Giants, he scored 28 runs off 9 balls with a strike rate of over 300.

On Friday (April 20), the innings reached a unique milestone in the IPL. Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper in IPL history to reach the milestone of 5000 runs.

However, as a batter, Dhoni had touched this milestone long ago. He scored 516 runs in 24 fifties after batting 223 innings in 257 matches. However, out of 257 matches, Dhoni kept wicket in 250 innings. In other words, he did not keep wicket in 7 matches. Dhoni reached the 5,000-run milestone against Lucknow on Friday, batting as a wicketkeeper.

Before Dhoni, no other wicketkeeper-batsman in the history of IPL could touch the milestone of 5000 runs. So far in the history of the franchise league, 7 cricketers have crossed the milestone of 5000 runs. But none of them are wicketkeepers except Dhoni.

Dhoni had faced 34 balls by batting 5 innings so far in the current IPL season. Collected 87 runs. He never got out. Hit 7 fours and 8 sixes. That is, Dhoni has collected runs at a strike-rate of 255.88 in this year's IPL.

Dhoni is great not only with the bat but also as a wicket keeper. He has kept wicket in 250 innings in IPL. 143 catches and 42 stumpings. Dhoni's total number of wickets as a wicketkeeper in the league is 185.
