He earned the title of world's heaviest test cricketer last month.

Now West Indies giant Rahkeem Cornwall has provided a handy lesson to young cricketers: always slide your bat.

Cornwall, the 1.98m, 140kg offspinning allrounder, was dismissed for one of cricket's most mind-boggling run-outs in the Caribbean Premier League match in St Lucia on Thursday (NZT).

Opening for St Lucia Zouks against Guyana Amazon Warriors, Cornwall was six off 12 balls before he trotted through for a comfortable single off the bat of team-mate Colin Ingram.

Cornwall was well home but didn't adhere to one of the first lessons of cricket: always slide your bat. Replays showed Cornwall's bat clearly in the air when the bails were removed, much to the horror of commentator Danny Morrison.

"Rahkeem you've got to slide the blade... he'd better go back to the hotel and hide," Morrison bellowed.

The Zouks went on to lose by eight wickets after posting a total of 161-7, with Black Caps allrounder Colin de Grandhomme leading the way for the hosts with a blistering 65 off 37 balls including five sixes.

Cornwall, 26, became a cricketing cult figure in recent years and was summoned for a West Indies test debut against India at Kingston last month.

The Antiguan snared prolific Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara as his first test wicket in tidy first innings figures of 3-105 off 41 overs and scored 14 and 1 in his side's 257-run defeat.
