Gary Ballance, Yorkshire's captain, has been granted time away from the game for personal reasons.Ballance missed Yorkshire's Championship game against Surrey last week, with Joe Root taking over the captaincy. He was then absent for the Royal London Cup game against Durham at Chester-le-Street on Friday, Steve Patterson leading the side in his place.
"Gary Ballance is set to miss several Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures after the club this week granted him some time away from the game due to personal reasons," Yorkshire said in a statement. "We ask that his privacy be respected during this time."
Ballance, who has played 23 Tests and was an unused member of England's Ashes touring party, took over as Yorkshire captain in 2017.
