NEW DELHI: Discarded India offspinner Harbhajan Singh, who has been playing for Mumbai Indians ever since the IPL began in 2008, found a new home in Chennai Super Kings during the auction last month. Harbhajan, who has played under various caption since his international career took off in 1998, called Dhoni a great captain and said the 2011 World Cup winning captain possesses certain qualities that make him an asset in T20s.

"It's always a great feeling to play along with MS Dhoni. I'm looking forward to working with him again towards a common goal - this time to win the trophy for the Chennai Super Kings," Harbhajan said told ChennaiSuperKings.com.

"He (Dhoni) understands the game really well, is street-smart and thinks ahead of the game and I feel that's very important for a captain, especially in T20. That's what makes him a great skipper," added the Sardar, who played under Dhoni for India.

Despite being banned from the IPL for two years, Chennai Super Kings have been one of the better sides in the tournament's history, having won the title twice and emerging runner-up four times. They qualified for the playoffs in the first eight editions of the tournament.

CSK will feature in the IPL 2018's opener against three-time champions Mumbai Indians. The two teams have made for an incredible rivalry in the past and Harbhajan, who has lifted the IPL trophy for Mumbai three times, and leading the franchise to the 2011 Champions League title, will be looking to win the title for a record fourth occasion, only this time, in a yellow jersey.

"It's great to be a part of two strong teams. 10 years with Mumbai Indians was absolutely brilliant, and now to be a part of another brilliant team. Here I come, Chennai! Let's do it together for Yellow," Harbhajan said. "CSK versus Mumbai Indians - two top teams - was always a pressure game. No matter how bad the situation, both would continue to fight till the end and create chances. That's how champion teams play, with a lot of passion and pride."
