MS Dhoni made a resounding impact in Indian cricket with his fearless approach, risk-taking attitude, handling the pace of the game especially in shorter formats and backing youngsters to the hilt during his leadership tenure. While many of his tactics are still recalled in present times, one of his gestures which became immensely popular in Indian cricket was handing the series trophy to a youngster and sliding himself from the limelight.

Thus, this way he made the youngster a part of the national side. This has become a trend in current times and is even followed by his successor, Virat Kohli, and the 31-year-old's deputy Rohit Sharma while leading Team India to victories.

The same happened when Kohli handed the trophy to India's newest entrant KS Bharat following India's Test series whitewash over Bangladesh after the day-night encounter in Kolkata. Spilling the beans on the entire gesture and what Kohli-Rohit told him while handing over the trophy, the 26-year-old told Asian Age, "Virat bhaiya walked up to me and just put the Trophy in my hands. I didn't know how to react and what to say. Then Virat bhaiya told me it's a small gesture of welcoming you in the team. Enjoy it". Then came Rohit bhaiya who was standing next to me. He told me to enjoy the moment. He said it is your time to enjoy and feel it". I was very nervous but was very happy the way they treated me."

"I can never forget this moment in my life. Sharing the dressing room and also learning this...It will motivate me a lot as a young player and I am sure many more youngsters will be motivated," added the young wicketkeeper-batsman hailing from Andhra Pradesh.

Bharat is yet to get a game for Team India but has been making the right noise in the domestic circuit with his performances both behind the stumps and with the long handle. However, with stiff competition from Wriddhiman Saha and Rishabh Pant, it won't be easy for the youngster to get a look-in.

In fact, Bharat was included in the India squad, during the Bangladesh series, at the last moment when Pant was granted permission to take part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Delhi.

Talking about the Men in Blue, their next assignment is a limited-overs series versus West Indies at home, starting from December 6.
