IPL will Strict with Foreigners, Those who Withdraw their Name for Unnecessary Reasons

Strict Action against Foreign Players: There have been many instances of names being auctioned to play in the IPL but being withdrawn before the start of the competition. Various cricketers have suddenly dropped out before the start of the IPL. IPL teams are trying to stop this trend. That is why they have proposed to bring new rules.

IPL teams had a meeting on Wednesday. There are several groups that have made an offer. After buying a foreign player in the auction, if he does not play in the IPL, the team faces a problem. So if a cricketer moves in such a way, he has been proposed to be banned from the IPL for two years. According to sources, all the parties have accepted this proposal. However, it is not clear whether this will be effective as a rule.

But if a cricketer goes to play for the country, or is unable to play due to injury, or is forced to withdraw due to family problems, IPL teams are willing to release him. But they have offered to punish if they leave without showing any major reason.

IPL teams claim that foreign cricketers face more problems if they are bought at minimum prices. At that time, the cricketer's manager said that he is willing to play if he gets more money. But he is not willing to play because he got less money in the auction.

Another trend the teams noticed. Foreign cricketers are not making their names in big auctions. Signing up for mini auction. In that case, there is a possibility of getting more money. The parties also want to stop it. It should be noted that Mitchell Starc got Rs 24 crore 75 lakh in the mini auction. But in the big auction of 2022, Ishan Kishan, who fetched the most money, was worth 15 crore 25 lakhs. For that reason, foreign cricketers may not get a place in the mini auction if they are not named in the big auction.

As per a Cricbuzz report, the franchises have suggested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to take action against such foreign players who pull out of the event without valid reasons. Some franchises even suggested the Board to ban such players from the event.

"In their one-on-one meetings with the BCCI CEO recently, franchises officials have sought actions against truant players who have withdrawn without valid reasons, with some even suggesting bans for these unreliable players," said the report.
