There’s Glimpse of Virender Sehwag's Batting in Prithvi Shaw, Says Wasim Jaffer

Former Indian cricket team opener and domestic cricket veteran Wasim Jaffer has praised Prithvi Shaw. Wasim Jaffer compared Prithvi Shaw to former Indian opener batsman Virender Sehwag. Wasim Jaffer feels that there is glimpse of Virender Sehwag in Prithvi Shaw batting style. Along with this, Wasim Jaffer has also advised Prithvi to be a little more disciplined.

Wasim Jaffer believes that Prithvi needs to be disciplined both inside and outside the field. After making a debut against the West Indies team, Prithvi Shaw was banned for eight months for doping. After that Prithvi Shaw made a comeback to cricket against New Zealand.

42-year-old Wasim Jaffer told former opener Akash Chopra on his YouTube channel, 'I think he (Shaw) needs to be more disciplined off the field. He has achieved success internationally, but he needs to be much disciplined outside of cricket as well.’

Wasim Jaffer believes that Prithvi Shaw has the ability to score fast against all types of bowling attacks. The same ability was also there in India's former veteran batsman Virender Sehwag. Virender Sehwag was known for his aggressive batting against all types of bowling attacks. Virender Sehwag used to start putting pressure on the bowler from the very first ball of the match. Prithvi Shaw has the same ability.

Jaffer, who scored the most runs in Ranji Trophy, said, 'Shaw has the ability to destroy the best bowling attack. The type of shots Shaw makes without a doubt I think he is a special player. If he continues, he has the ability like Virender Sehwag, who can completely destroy the bowling attack.’

Jaffer said, 'I think somewhere he needs to understand his game. He needs to take some time. He was out on short pitch balls several times and got caught in the bowlers' plan. He needs to understand this. '
