Sachin Tendulkar "God of Cricket" not always helped Prithvi Shaw
"He is living in that Indian circle where he has got role models like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan who are so disciplined."
If I do comparisons to the "God of Cricket" of India, Sachin Tendulkar has not always used to do help Prithvi Shaw like he alsways seeks for putting doping ban and worries about injury behind him and cementing the place in national side. Prithvi Shaw is now 20 was linked instantly with Sachin when he played the match of othe little master for Mumbai scoring centuries on the domestic tournaments on debut like Duleep Trophy and Ranji Trophy in 2017. He led India at World Cup of Under-19 to victory and had made a match against West Indies by winning 134 in 2018 Test match. He is the youngest Indian player who scored a century at just 18 years and 10 months 25 days on debut.
"He is a special talent and I am a little disappointed with the way things have taken its course after his ankle injury and then his ban for using the banned substance," Wasim Jaffer, the former Test opener told AFP.
"He is living in that Indian circle where he has got role models like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan who are so disciplined."
"Seeing all of this troubles me because he is very, very talented. But he needs to be disciplined if he wants to achieve great things."
Prithvi Shaw has payed 3 ODIs and 4 Test matches, successful to make headlines as the 14 year old player who made a record in 2013 a 564 off 330 balls in a school competition.
"There is pressure when people compare me to him. But I take it as a challenge. I try to play like him. He is the god of cricket," Shaw told the Delhi Capitals, his IPL franchise.
"Whenever you perform at the top level, the media and the people hype you so much, but it is an individual's responsibility to learn," Jaffer said.
"Virat keeps himself grounded. Every rising batsman in Mumbai circles is right away compared to Tendulkar. Everything boils down to performance."
"Now also whenever I go for practice, if Sachin Sir is there to watch me, he will talk, not much technically but mentally more," Shaw said, in a chat on Instagram.
"Prithvi, like Rohit Sharma and Tendulkar, can adjust very well despite his aggressive stance and can assess the ball quicker than many other cricketers. If he keeps himself physically well, mentally he is a very strong kid, he will be able to play for India for a very long time".
