The Delhi Capitals won the bidding war, paying Rs 2 crore for the services of Australia's Annabel Sutherland, who has a base price of Rs 40 lakh, during the 2024 WPL Auction in Mumbai on Saturday.

Vrinda Dinesh, an uncapped India batter, was sold to UP Warriorz for a staggering Rs 1.3 crore, which is 13 times her base price of Rs 10 lakh. Gujarat Giants paid Rs 2 crore for uncapped India spinner Kashvee Gautam, which is 20 times her starting price of Rs 10 lakh.

The Delhi Capitals finally won the bidding war on Saturday, when they paid a whopping Rs 2 crore for the services of Australia's Annabel Sutherland, who has a base price of Rs 40 lakh.

There was a major fight between Mumbai Indians and Delhi, and the latter was ultimately victorious. In WPL Auction 2024, Phoebe Litchfield was the first player to go under the hammer.

Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz fought tooth and nail for the Australian all-rounder, whose basic price is Rs 30 lakh. Gujarat eventually closed the transaction and secured Litchfield's services for Rs 1 crore.
