The Sixers won with a vengeance. This game was supposed to be a showdown between Smith and Warner, but only one of them showed up today. While Smith was at his commanding best, smashing the ball to all parts of the field, Warner appeared scratchy and never got into his stride.

That metaphor extended to the rest of his team, as the Sydney Thunder eventually folded for 62, handing the Sixers a 125-run win.
125 is also what Smith managed on his own in the first two innings.

The veteran batter batted through the innings with captain Moises Henriques, putting together an unbroken 155-run stand. In 31 deliveries, the former reached fifty in the tenth over. The Sydney Sixers won the toss and chose to bat with 19 overs per side in a rain-shortened game.

Smith followed up his maiden T20 century against the Adelaide Strikers with a brilliant innings that included 9 sixes. Smith sped to his triple century in just 56 deliveries, partnering with captain Moises Henriques for 155 runs. After the match was reduced to 19 overs due to a rain delay, Sydney Thunder scored 187 for the loss of two wickets.

Thunder were bowled out for 62 runs in response in the Sydney Derby at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Smith, by the way, brought up both of his centuries with maximums. The former Australian captain has now smashed 16 sixes in his two matches. "I'm at a loss for words," Sixers captain Moises Henriques said. "And to think we wouldn't have let him play last year.
