IPL 2020: NADA To set up 5 DCS to carry out 50 dope tests in UAE.
Along with NADA's tests, all the players will undergo 2 tests for COVID-19 before joining their respective teams in the IPL 2020.
NADA will set up three teams with one official and two DCOs to carry out 50 dope tests in United Arab Emirates (UAE) for IPL 2020. Along with NADA's tests, all the players will undergo 2 tests for COVID-19 before joining their respective teams in the IPL 2020. According to sources, NADA is targeting to collect at least 50 samples during the tournament and will be asked to stay in the bio bubble that is created for IPL 2020 in UAE. "NADA will have nine people in UAE and they will also take help of the UAE's National Anti Doping Organization if they require further manpower, in this case chaperones who help in sample collection," a BCCI official said. According to Sources, The NADA has already asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to prepare five separate Dope Control Stations (DCS) in the UAE -- three at the match venues in Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi along with two at the practice facilities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The officers have also said they will carry out tests on some of the big cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and some more international cricketers. The test is conducted by collecting urine of the players and also by collecting the blood samples if they are needed for the test.
