Rohit Sharma captained his team on the field and won the ICC trophy for the first time after a wait of almost 11 years. Rohit Sharma was the second highest run scorer in the tournament. He scored 257 runs at an average of 36.71 and an excellent strike rate of 156.7.

Rohit played an aggressive inning of 92 runs in 41 balls against Australia in India's last Super 8 match. After this, in the semi-final against England, he played an excellent inning of 57 runs in 39 balls. In the final, his bat did not perform as well as in these two matches, but despite this, it was due to his excellent captaincy that Team India managed to win another ICC title after a long wait.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan)
The name of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, one of the brilliant batsmen of Afghanistan, is also included in this. Afghanistan's opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz helped the team reach the World Cup semi-finals for the first time. He scored 281 runs, which is the highest score by any batsman in the tournament. For the first time an Afghan batsman has achieved this milestone. He has scored runs at an average of 35.12 and strike rate of 124.33.

ICC has also included Jasprit Bumrah's name in the nomination. Who kept bowling lethal bowling throughout the tournament. At any stage that India were behind in the tournament with the ball, skipper Rohit summoned Jasprit Bumrah into action. And the right-arm pacer duly delivered, whether it be in the group game against arch-rivals Pakistan in New Yorkl, in the all-important final against South Africa, or just about anywhere in between.

In his eight matches, Jaspreet took 15 wickets at an average of 8.26 and an economy of just 4.17. He was adjudged the best player of the T20 World Cup and became the player of the tournament.
