Eng vs WI: International Cricket Will Return Today After a Long Time

Today is a historic day for cricket. Cricket, which was stalled for a long time due to the spread of Corona virus, is going to return today. England and West Indies teams will be a part of this historic moment. West Indies team will play a Test match with England. This test match will be played at Southampton. According to Indian time, this match will start at 3:30 pm.

The last match was played on 15 March before the corona virus spread. Today, cricket is coming back after 117 days. For the first time in 46 years after the arrival of ODI cricket, cricket has not been played for 100 or more than 100 days. Prior to this, no international matches were played for 114 days in 1972 and 113 days in 1973.

One-day international cricket started on January 5, 1971, but only 15 matches were played in the first four years. This was the reason that no match was played from 19 August 1971 to 16 February 1972. This means no match was played for 181 days, which is the longest interval between two matches in the last five decades.

Many rules have been changed for this match. This match will be played in empty stadium. The captains of both teams and match referee will go to the ground for the toss. No camera will go to the ground during the toss. Captains will not shake hands with each other after the toss. There will also be a sanitization break during the match. Players may not share gloves, shirts, water bottles, bags or sweaters. There will be no ball boy, and the ground staff will not go within 20 meters of the players on the ground.

Scorers will not share pens and pencils. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already banned the use of saliva on the ball. After two warnings, a penalty of five runs will be imposed. If the ball goes into the stand for six runs, then the team members of Team Squad wearing gloves will throw it back, no one else will be allowed to touch it.
