The Indian Premier League (IPL) has not been played this year due to the outbreak of Corona virus. All kinds of sports have been affected due to this virus outbreak. No cricket has been played for a long time. BCCI is constantly trying to make the IPL happen. But so far they have not been able to take any decision.

 

Actually, the T20 World Cup is also to be held this year. The ICC has not yet taken any decision regarding the T20 World Cup. The ICC is constantly postponing its decision. IPL is a long running tournament. If the T20 World Cup is held then it will be very difficult for the IPL to happen this year.

 

The future of the IPL depends on the T20 World Cup this year. If T20 is canceled, the way for IPL will be cleared. Sources have revealed that the BCCI is thinking of getting the IPL out of India this year. According to a BCCI official, discussions are underway on Sri Lanka and UAE.

 

The official said that the situation in India is not so good that the IPL can be played. The board has almost decided that the IPL will be played outside India. However, the final decision on this matter is yet to come. BCCI has names of Sri Lanka and UAE as an alternative places for IPL outside India.

 

Among Sri Lanka and UAE, the country whose conditions will be better, IPL will be played in that country. This is the 13th edition of the IPL. This will not be the first time that the IPL will be taken out of India. In the year 2009, IPL was played in South Africa. Now it has to be seen what the BCCI decides on this matter.
