BCCI announce India squad for Australia tour, Rohit Sharma misses out 

 

The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) announced the Indian Squad for Australia tour on Monday. As expected, Virat Kohli will be leading the team in all 3 formats. Rohit Sharma is out of Australia tour due to injury. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Kl Rahul has been named as Vice-Captain for ODI and T20I. 

 

Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharath Arun, batting coach Vikram Rathour and fielding coach R Sridhar, Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari have reached the UAE on Sunday. Kartik Tyagi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ishan Porel and T Natarajan will be 4 additional bowlers who will also travel to Australia.

 

In this tour, India will play 4 Test matches, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is after the conclusion of the IPL 2020. Cricket Australia has already announced the provisional schedule. The tour is likely to start with the ODIs. According to Provincial schedule, Sydney and Canberra are likely to host T20Is and ODIs while Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney are likely to host 4-match Test series. The D/N Test match is scheduled to be played at Adelaide.

 

Kl Rahul has got another chance in the test squad after his brilliant performance in IPL 2020. Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma miss out due to Injury. Hardik Pandya has made comeback into the white-ball squad. Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakravarthy gets his maiden call for Indian Team. He will be part of Indian T20I squad. Rishab Pant has been excluded from white-ball sqaud, but has been included in red-ball squad against Australia. 

 

Test squad: Virat Kohli (C), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vc), Hanuma Vihari, Shubman Gill, W Saha (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammad Siraj. 

 

ODI squad: Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul (vc & wk), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur. 

 

T20I squad: Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul (vc & wk), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy
