After the Loss, LSG owner was Criticized for Publicly 'Scolding' Captain Rahul

At the end of twenty overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad were given a target of 166 runs by Lucknow Super Giants. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma's onslaught saw Hyderabad chase down the target in just 9.4 overs. Lucknow chairman Sanjeev Goenka could not take such a loss well.

At the end of the match, Goenka was openly angry with Lucknow captain Lokesh Rahul. He is seen brushing Rahul. As far as can be guessed from the video, it was understood that Rahul was trying to convince Goenka. But Lucknow leaders are not taking those measures.

Many are criticizing Goenka after this incident. As Goenka’s animated chat visuals aired, JioCinema experts said, ‘The owner is very passionate about his team, but these conversations should be happening behind closed doors’.

“It’s an owner that’s very passionate about his team. He’s watched his team take an absolute drubbing, and, you know, the emotions are rolled over. You always feel that these conversations should be happening behind closed doors because there’s so many cameras around these stadiums. They miss nothing. And, you know, KL Rahul’s now got to go to press conferences and various other things, probably potentially explain what’s being discussed," JioCinema expert Graeme Smith said.

“Well, he’s unhappy, isn’t he? He’s clearly voicing his concerns and KL is going well, hang on. Not quite sure what you wanted us to do … If you compare that with the way the Sunrises play played, no doubt there was a distinct gap between the two teams. And, yeah, just voicing his displeasure by the look of that," said former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson.

Former Kolkata Knight Riders director Joy Bhattacharya single-handedly took Goenka. He said, "I was watching the captain exchange words with a cricketer in the field. There are definitely some such patterns in the past as well, how about if the board thinks about the cricketers a little and gives them the opportunity to choose their likes and dislikes?

After the incident of Lucknow Owner, there are rumors that the leadership may go to Rahul within a few days. He can also leave the team, he may be seen in a new team next season.

LSG is currently at the sixth spot and have 12 points from 12 matches after winning six. They have a net run rate of -0.769.

"There is a five-day gap before the next game against DC. As of now, no decision has been taken but it is understood that if Rahul plans to just concentrate on his batting for the remaining two games, the management won't mind," an IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
