Hughes, Henriques make starts on rain-hit first day
A patient half-century from Daniel Hughes gave New South Wales a solid first-innings platform, while Moises Henriques struck a brisk 41 not out

Mennie ripped through the Blues middle order first up on day two after they began the day at 3 for 124. He claimed debutant Jack Edwards and captain Peter Nevill in the space of four balls. He then trapped Moises Henriques in front in his next over to claim his seventh five-wicket haul in first-class cricket and leave the Blues reeling at 6 for 141.
They soon slumped to 8 for 147 before Trent Copeland, Steve O'Keefe and Sean Abbott mounted an excellent rearguard. The trio added 99 runs for the last two wickets. Copeland finished unbeaten on 55 off 68 balls with seven fours and a six.
He also made the early breakthrough with the ball, removing Jake Weatherald for 14. South Australia were 2 for 24 before stand-in captain Jake Lehmann and Callum Ferguson consolidated with an unbroken 89-run stand. Lehmann cruised to 53 not out while Ferguson remained on 34 as the Redbacks will look to gain a firs- innings lead on day three.
