OUT! Caught (Sub). Tendai Chatara to Dushmantha Chameera. Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to point. There it is, Zimbabwe seal a thrilling victory. It's a slower one from Chatara that completely deceives the batsman. He's through the shot early and the ball pops up for a simple catch to the sub fielder. Heartbreak for Sri Lanka, ecstasy for Zimbabwe - what a match in Mirpur. Phew, time to take a breath. That was tense stuff, the game twisted and turned countless times during that runchase and it went right to the wire. In the end Zimbabwe held their nerve, and crucially their catches, to secure a fantastic victory by the small margin of 12 runs. It seems a long time ago now but Kusal Perera got the chase off to a lightning start, slashing boundaries for fun in his swashbuckling 80. Sri Lanka then stuttered through the middle overs and couldn't establish a partnership, so Thisara Perera took the game by the scruff of the neck. His audacious 64 came from just 37 deliveries and looked to have sealed the contest for his side. Tendai Chatara had other ideas though, having him caught in the deep and then finishing the job next over to finish with a career best 33-4. After a one-sided opening match, this Tri-Series has surged into life in the second - that bodes well for Match 3 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on Friday.
