Over 19. 8 runs. Bowler: Shardul Thakur. Sri Lanka: 5-175(rr 9.21)
18.3 Shardul Thakur to Thisara Perera
FOUR! Shardul Thakur to Thisara Perera. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Perera clubs a four away from his head as he gets his hands to the ball and gets it away well. That's enough to win the game for Sri Lanka too. Perera took a while to get going but his and Shanaka's partnership proved crucial in the end. A great game with outstanding batting innings from both Dhawan and K Perera ends with the Sri Lankan's coming out on top. The Indian side were noticably short on bowling in the end, a full-strength side probably would have defended 175 out there. Credit where it's due to Sri Lanka though, they saw their opportunity and grasped it, putting themselves in with a real chance of winning this tournament. Sri Lanka win by five wickets after a real battle with this Indian side, they were up and away after the powerplay, recording their highest ever T20I total in doing so with 75. They were dragged back into the game with a barren spell in the middle overs thanks to some good spin bowling from India, it wasn't enough to pull back the game though.
18.2 Shardul Thakur to Thisara Perera
Shardul Thakur to Thisara Perera. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, well timed to deep mid wicket for 2 runs, fielded by Shankar.
18.1 Shardul Thakur to Dasun Shanaka
Shardul Thakur to Dasun Shanaka. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to cover for 1 run, shy attempt by Sharma.
18.1 Shardul Thakur to Dasun Shanaka
Wide Shardul Thakur to Dasun Shanaka. Length ball, to leg on the front foot glancing, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Karthik.
