Their first innings total of 147 was ultimately too many for the Sixers as the home team were defeated by ten runs. Deandra Dottin was crucial with bat and ball for the Strikers, scoring 52 not out off 37 deliveries and taking 2 wickets in an all-round performance that earned her the Player of the Match award. The Sixers fell to 4/16 early in their run chase and despite efforts from Ellyse Perry (33), Nicole Bolton (32), and Maitlan Brown (34), they fell just short of completing their near-perfect season with a trophy. They were outplayed tonight by the deserving champions, for the first time ever in the WBBL, the Adelaide Strikers!
